This museum quality antique 1889's wedding ensemble is still in the family and also includes the kid skin gloves worn by the groom!  The fabric is an ivory faille embellished with lace, bustles, folds and pleats.  I have to let the photos do the talking as this wedding ensemble with provenance is purely magnificent.

The Stayed Petticoat:  Only the front of the lavishly laced petticoat was to be seen.  The back is heavy muslin encasing three rows of 1" wide boning.  From the inside of the petticoat, the boning can be adjusted with the buckled tape ties to form the bustle.  These tape ties can be adjusted to form the depth of the bustle.  20" waist.  The petticoat also has a 6"x8" straw(?) filled bustle off the back waist.

The Trained Bodice: The trained bodice is a voluminous creation of folds and deep pleats.  The heavily stayed bodice is a complex system of hook & eye closures and covered buttons.  20" waist.

Accessories:  Wedding Shoes, Fan, Gloves, Groom's Gloves and small fabric scrap.  Fan is 20" wide when open.  Silk/Satin has a few stains but has the original box.  Shoes are leather and kidskin.  Wm. Eastwood Rtochester, N.Y.  size 4B  (9" long)

Label:  none

Size:  20" waist

Condition:  Excellent/Superior Antique Condition.  There are no rips anywhere to be seen.  The owner told me someone in the family had tried the gown on to have a photo taken and they had to let the back bodice seam go so that they could fit into the gown.  This is an easy fix as there was no fabric damage done.  One of the lace cuffs has come unstitched from the bottom of the sleeve.  Again, an easy repair.  The only spot is on the front bodice and is shown in one of the photos.
